Server log
Nov 2004
Connection upgraded to Yahoo! SBC DSL — 3 / 0.5 Mbps asymmetric. Would have kept cable but it got too expensive.
May 2001
The site was almost completely wiped by a hardware crash last month. Managed to bring most things back — particularly relieved about the fantastic Jethro Tull collection. Everything is back here — don't hesitate to click. The site is dedicated to Unixes, Solaris mostly, networks and stuff like this.
Apr 2000
Server is a Sun Microsystems SparcStation LX — assembled roughly ten years prior. The hardware crash was good for one thing: forced an upgrade to a SCSI-3 drive. Running ATT @Home cable at 7 Mbps / 128 Kbps. Don't let anyone fool you with all that DSL crap — cable modems are the right way to go. (ATT claims 10 Mbps; personal testing confirms the numbers above.) Come back a couple of times a month and you'll see some updates here.
